Nominee Design
Lukas Heintschel's designs are shaped by a narrative use of forms and conceptual rethinking. They are defined by a combination of calm, architectonic shapes, clear functionalism and oftentimes humorous details. Practical functions are transformed into playful narratives and are therefore no longer opposed to one another, but instead depend on each other. His work questions existing typologies enabling unexpected, new perspectives on the known. The serial production of his works in collaboration with industrial partners and craft workshops is based on the cradle-to-cradle principle: with responsible manufacturing, reparability and durability as the focus.
Lukas Heintschel (born 1995) is a product designer and founder of the studio 'Lukas Heintschel Design'. After completing his degree in product design at the Munich University of Applied Sciences in 2019, Lukas Heintschel initially worked in the fields of medical design and robotics. As part of the support programme run by the Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Strascheg Centre for Entrepreneurship, he simultaneously founded the lighting brand 'Neozoon' in 2021 and, following a successful crowdfunding campaign that same year, set up his own business. Lukas Heintschel increasingly connected with established brands through exhibitions in the emerging talent sections of various trade fairs and design weeks. Following his first collaborations, he founded his studio, ‘Lukas Heintschel Design’. Since then, his clients have included both young, innovative labels and internationally established brands. His designs are shaped by a narrative use of forms and a conceptual rethinking and stand out as a combination of quiet, architectonic shapes with playful details. His works have received numerous awards and have been shown in international exhibitions, including the 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen (2025), the SaloneSatellite in Milan (2026), the imm cologne (2022) as well as the Destination Design in Eindhoven (2026). In 2025 he founded, together with seven other designers from Munich, the group 'Stammtisch', who had their first show in the following year at the 'Munich Design Days'.
