Sandra Singh's work is based on a consistently feminist and post-migrant perspective. In her multilayered projects, the artist critically engages with pressing socio-political issues such as border policies, surveillance, female autonomy, migrant identity and misogyny in digital spaces. She works multidisciplinary, combining photography, video art and printmaking to playfully question the boundaries between documentation and fiction. As a visual activist Singh interweaves scientific studies, personal research and found footage to create expressive artwork.
Her aesthetic production ranges from photographic works and prints to immersive, multimedia space installations that actively engage visitors in her socially critical research processes.

Sandra Singh, born 1990 in Munich, is a fine artist, photographer and curator. In her artistic practice, she works on the intersection of photography, media and video art. She studied photo design at the University for Applied Sciences in Munich (BA 2017) and has since had numerous exhibitions, publications and residencies in Germany and internationally. Her focus lies on projects and research surrounding themes of border politics, female autonomy and migrant identity.
As a member of the collectives Diversify.Photo and Women Photograph, the post migrant, feminist perspective is at the centre of her artistic interpretation of these themes. She received prizes and stipends, including the Feminist Artpriue of the IKOB Museum for contemporary art (BL, 2025) and the Artist Stipend of the City of Munich (2024). Alongside her artistic work, she works as a freelance photographer for notable publications on a regional and international basis. Singh is also a member of the BBK – Association of Visual Artists of Munich / Upper Bavaria – and serves on the advisory board for visual arts at GEDOK Muc – Interdisciplinary Organisation of Artists. Since 2024, she has been part of the curatorial team at FOTODOKS: International Festival for Contemporary Documentary Photography, and from July 2026 she will serve as GEDOK’s representative on the Munich City Council Commission for the Equality of Women/FLINTA*.
