"For us, an individual font is the key to outstanding branding. The basis for this is a sensitive approach to typography. What characterises us that we do not just choose the appropriate font, but that we develop our own ones. Using the newest font technology, we create intuitive tools that make it easier for users to interact with corporate design. Typography is not just communication, a tool, identity and a voice. Typography creates something recognisable, enabling orientation, visibility, connection, character and community. Typography is a witness of its time – it is culture. We combine our creative work with cultural and societal value, preferably in our immediate surroundings, being Munich."

Just Your Type is a Munich-based Design Studio. It was founded in 2021 by Mona Franz and Sebastian Bergig and specialises in typography and branding design. The work of their now five-year-old studio includes projects such as the visual identity of the town Freising that was awarded the Corporate Design Prize 2024, the new identity of the Ulm theatre in collaboration with Jürgen Held, as well as the design for the brewery Münchner Kindl. They provide an accessible introduction to the topic of type and typography in public spaces, for example through typographic city tours, the Ampersand exhibition, and the pop-up at the Ruffinihaus.
Just Your Type combines a design practice that has cultural and societal value. As participants they actively designed the lecture series of the typographic association in Munich and at the University in Munich. Since 2021, Mona has been building bridges between students and experienced designers in her position as a lecturer there.
Just Your Type initiates nationwide and international perspectives initiating workshops, typo meet-ups, recommends speakers and brings together different positions from the industry. This network is rooted in Sebastian's experience in established agencies such as Zeichen & Wunder, Serviceplan and Jung von Matt, as well as Mona's master’s degree in typo design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, The Hague.
Currently, Just Your Type is working on the new corporate design for Kreativ Munich and thereby helps to create visibility of the local creative industries.
